The switcher does not appear
Is langify published to your theme?
If langify is not published to your theme, the switcher will not appear. Check both that langify is enabled as an embedded app and that the correct theme ID has been entered.
Solution: See Publishing langify for step-by-step instructions.
Is your language published and assigned to a market?
The switcher only shows languages that are published and assigned to a Shopify market.
Solution: See How to assign languages to domains/markets to check your setup.
Are your languages spread across multiple markets?
By default, the switcher only shows the languages of the currently active market. If your languages are assigned to different markets, the switcher will not show all of them.
Solution: Enable the Market Domain option in the language switcher settings. See Market Domains for instructions.
The switcher ignores my custom settings
Did you recently switch to a new theme?
The switcher configuration is theme-specific and needs to be migrated when you switch themes.
Solution: See the Migrating the langify Switcher section of our theme migration guide.
Is your theme ID entered correctly?
If the wrong theme ID is entered in the langify embedded app settings, the switcher may fall back to its default design.
Solution: See Entering your theme ID for instructions.
The switcher appears below the footer
Did you complete the custom placement setup?
This happens when the switcher position is set to Custom, but the required HTML span tag has not yet been added to your theme code.
Solution:
- To keep the custom position, complete the setup as described in Placement — Custom.
- To use a different position instead, change the switcher position as described in Placement.
The switcher does not work correctly
Does clicking the switcher lead to a blank page?
This is usually caused by an incomplete market domain setup. If a language has no domain entered, the switcher will redirect to a blank page instead of the correct URL.
Solution: Double-check your market domain setup and make sure that each language has a domain entered. See Redirect Error "https://false/?redirect=true" for more information.
