If you have just installed langify, you will automatically land on the Free plan. You can upgrade to any plan of your choice at any time.

Where to Find the Subscription Plans

In langify, click on Profile in the navigation bar on the left, then on My Subscription:

Here you can find all available langify plans:

To change to a different plan, click on the "Upgrade/Downgrade Plan" button beneath the desired plan. This will redirect you to the subscription approval page in Shopify where you have to actively agree to the new subscription charge before the plan is changed.

Plan Change Restrictions

Please keep the following in mind before changing your plan:

  • If you have received a plan-related machine-translation word gift within the last 25 days, your billing will be updated with the next cycle instead of immediately.
  • If you have a discount, it will be lost when changing plans. Please reach out to our support at any time to get it reapplied.

Plan Changes Between Paid Plans

Switching between paid plans — whether upgrading or downgrading — has no effect on your translations or your machine translation word balance. All your existing languages, translated content, and any remaining machine translation words carry over unchanged, regardless of which paid plan you move to.

Special Case — The Free Plan

When downgrading to the Free plan, please note the following:

Languages

For more than 5 translation languages, the Free plan will display only the 5 oldest. Newer languages and their translations remain but become uneditable.

Machine-Translations

The Free plan does not support machine-translations. Existing word packages purchased for the machine-translation feature remain but are unusable until upgrading to a higher plan.

Custom Content, Image Translations, and Switcher

Custom Content, image translations, and any langify switcher are unavailable on the Free plan. Existing Custom Content or image translations will be stored but will stop working, and langify switchers will vanish from your page. Upon upgrading, these features will resume functioning.

Cost Calculation for Upgrading

New subscription charges are prorated when upgrading to a higher-priced subscription during the current billing cycle, according to Shopify's policy. The amount due depends on:

  • What you have already paid
  • The cost difference between the plans
  • The time left in the current billing cycle

The calculation formula is:

plan1_cost + (plan2cost - plan1cost) * (cycle_days_left / total_cycle_days) = total_cost

For instance, starting a 30-day billing cycle on the Basic plan at $17.50 then upgrading to the Growth plan for $29.95 on day 15 of the cycle would result in a charge of $23.73.

$17.50 + ($29.95 - $17.50) * (15 / 30) = $23.73

Cost Calculation for Downgrading

If you have received a machine-translation word gift within the last month, then your app billing will be updated with the next cycle instead of immediately. Otherwise:

If you downgrade your app plan to a less expensive version, then you're automatically offered an application credit based on the difference in price and the number of days remaining in the billing cycle. This application credit can be used towards any future application purchase on Shopify. The amount of prorated credits depends on:

  • The cost difference between the plans
  • The time left in the current billing cycle

The formula is:

(plan2cost - plan1cost) * (cycle_days_left / total_cycle_days) = prorated credits

For example, starting a 30-day cycle on the Growth plan at $29.95 and then downgrading to the Basic plan at $17.50 on day 15 of the cycle would result in $6.23 prorated credits.

($29.95 - $17.50) * (15 / 30) = $6.23

Please note that the Free plan is an exception because it has no cost. If downgrading to the Free plan, you will be billed the full price of the previous plan for the ongoing cycle. Then, in the next cycle, there will be no charge for our langify app.
