Generally, you can choose either the languages detection or the languages recommendation feature. They cannot be enabled both at the same time.

Language Detection

The language detection feature redirects visitors based on their browser language.

You can enable this in the langify dashboard by opening the Switcher Configurator tab and going to Detection & Redirection.

• If you are using a GDPR app, don't forget to whitelist the cookie name ly-lang-selected.
• By adding the URL parameter ?ly-lang-detect=off, you can disable the language detection in your browser.

Language Recommendation

You can enable the language recommendation in the langify dashboard if you open the Switcher Configurator and go to the Recommendation tab.

When actived this will display a banner or popup for your customers that shows their browser language as first choice. This way, they are made aware that their preferred language is available and can quickly select it.

The recommendation banner is especially useful for regions where an automatic redirect is not allowed.
